CARE AND HANDLING

All Clème artworks are made with carefully selected, high-quality materials. To preserve the beauty, texture and integrity of your piece over time, please follow these care guidelines:

  • Keep away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause colours to fade over time

  • Avoid moisture and humidity. Do not place the artwork in bathrooms, kitchens, or other rooms subject to high or fluctuating humidity

  • Avoid extreme or frequent temperature changes. Keep the artwork away from radiators, fireplaces, heaters, air-conditioning units and other direct heat sources

  • Avoid smoke exposure. Do not smoke in the same room or burn incense, candles or other products near the artwork. Smoke and airborne residues may settle on the ribbons and canvas, potentially causing discolouration or yellowing over time

  • Handle with care. When moving or installing your artwork, hold it by the frame or edges of the canvas and avoid touching or pressing the ribbons

  • Do not pull, bend or manipulate the ribbons. The ribbons are individually applied and should not be handled unnecessarily

  • Touch with care. If touching the ribbons is unavoidable, always handle them with clean, dry hands to avoid transferring oils, moisture or dirt onto the surface

  • Dust gently and regularly. Use a soft, clean feather duster or very soft, dry brush, moving lightly over the surface without pressing into the ribbons

  • Never use water, cleaning products or chemicals. Do not spray or apply any liquid directly to the artwork. Moisture and cleaning products may permanently damage the canvas, ribbons or adhesive

  • Do not use a vacuum cleaner. Even with a brush attachment, suction may catch or displace the ribbons

  • Do not attempt to clean or repair the artwork yourself, in case of staining or accidental damage. Please consult a professional art conservator for advice

  • No cleaning beyond gentle dusting is required. With proper care, these guidelines will help preserve the artwork and minimise the effects of environmental exposure over time. As with all textile artworks, the ribbons and colours may naturally evolve with age

Please note that any damage resulting from improper handling, unsuitable environmental conditions, attempted cleaning, alteration or failure to follow these care instructions is not the responsibility of the artist. Clème cannot be held responsible for damage caused after delivery due to improper handling, installation, storage, cleaning or environmental exposure

In the event of accidental damage, please contact Clème before attempting any repair or restoration
