A MATERIAL THAT STAYED WITH ME
My relationship with ribbons goes back much further than my artistic practice. I have always carried a ribbon in my pocket — a familiar, comforting object, almost like a doudou. For years, I never imagined it could become the foundation of my work
When creating my first artwork, Écume des jours, I naturally began experimenting with this familiar material. Through trial and error, I discovered a way of working with ribbons that felt entirely my own. What had always been a source of comfort gradually became a means of expression

DEVELOPING MY OWN TECHNIQUE
My technique consists of applying ribbons to a canvas by their edges, rather than laying them flat. Arranged side by side and in layers, they create sculptural relief, depth and movement, while their satin sheen interacts with light
Naturally soft and flexible, ribbons are delicate to manipulate and control. Each must be carefully positioned to create a structured composition while preserving the fluidity that makes the material so expressive. Through experimentation, I continue to explore new ways of shaping ribbons and bringing texture and depth to the canvas

BRINGING MOVEMENT INTO STILLNESS
At the heart of my work lies a fascination with movement — how it can be captured and felt within something that remains still
Through texture, perspective and light, I explore the relationship between movement and stillness. The ribbons' satin sheen and sculptural forms respond to changing light, revealing new nuances and depths as the viewer moves around the piece
I am drawn to this evolving relationship between an artwork and its surroundings. Each piece offers different perspectives, inviting the viewer to take their time and discover details that might otherwise go unnoticed
Through ribbons, I seek to create works that remain physically still, yet continue to evolve through light, movement and perception
